http://www.wildlifeextra.com/go/news/leucistic-cardinal.html This Cardinal was seen in Hideaway, Texas, in December 2009 by Pat Fengler. Northern Cardinals occur from Mexico and Belize, all the way up through the Eastern Seabord to southern Canada.
Leucism is a very unusual condition whereby the pigmentation cells in an animal or bird fail to develop properly. This can result in unusual white patches appearing on the animal, or, more rarely, completely white creatures.
